I wanted to make black silk rope necklaces for pendants but had trouble finding actual silk rope.  The necklaces found throughout the internet that are called "silk" are polyester or synthetic.  Then it hit me-- surgical suture!  These 13-strand black silk surgical suture necklaces are an elegant and unusual way to display your treasured pendants.

  
Currently available in 18.5" and 20.5" with Argentium sterling silver toggle or 24k gold vermeil toggle.  Other lengths can be made to order.

Please note:  a pendant's bail must be at least 6.5mm x 5mm internal diameter in order for the toggle end to fit.   Many of my pendants will require slight elongation of the bail in order to accommodate this toggle; I'd be happy to adjust any of these pendants to fit on the suture necklaces; just let me know when you order.
